This is a must see tour. For lovers of art and history, lost cultures and those who love -why not?- to shiver. The Etruscans, a people of a high culture which where so to say the midwifes of Rome, loved beauty and leasure. Since they didn’t like that much fighting, they were conquered by the Romans and eventually blended in the Roman empire with the high cost of their almost destructed cities, villages, yes, their complete culture. Though, their underworld has come down to us.

Schedule

• The biggest legacy the Etruscans have left is or was subsoiled. Their culture of the next world is full of joy, and with joy we’ll admire the art of their tombes and graves. In Cerveteri we get to see the biggest amount of accessable Etruscan tumuli, buriel mounds. You’ll be astonished, or thrilled. A rather fascinating city of death in which the tumuli are placed in a grith of straith lines. Like a modern American city. The buriels are from the inside hardly depicted.
• For wonderful murals we’ll go to Tarquinia, now a lovely city on top of a hill with many towers from days long gone. Imagine to see murals in fresco who are still fresh (exactly the meaning of the word ‘fresco’) and colourful as though they’ve been painted yesterday.
• We get a lunch (muliple plates) in a typical Italian restaurant that only locals know.
• As dessert we’ll head to the local museum to see what kind of incredible designed utensils and artefacts this cheerful Etruscan people got in their tombs.
